چکیده
Abstract Objective: Since the development of new deep brain stimulation (DBS) devices in recent years, there is an increased need for assessing safety combination with transcranial magnetic (TMS). Methods: We applied a combined ex vivo and computational approach to investigate TMS using Boston Scientific segmented electrode. TMS-induced current was measured between electrode lead extension, different coil positions (center, off-center right, left) numbers loops DBS (no loop, one two loops). The same TMS-DBS conditions were simulated on individual head model patient exposure electric field induced currents analyzed. Results: varied 16 165 mA combinations loops. highest condition In condition, simulation revealed as high 93 mA. Conclusions: can excessive through thus exceed limits. Significance: present findings pose concern application patients generation electrodes. Research Category Technology Methods Translational Research: 10. متن کاملDeep brain transcranial magnetic stimulation using variable “Halo coil” system
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation has the potential to treat various neurological disorders non-invasively and safely. The “Halo coil” configuration can stimulate deeper regions of the brainwith lower surface to deep-brain field ratio compared to other coil configurations. The existing “Halo coil” configuration is fixed and is limited in varying the site of stimulation in the brain. We have dev...
